information page on standards

ISO standards are a set of international standards that are designed to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency in products and services.

There are currently 24,106 different ISO standards.

Some are very specific, such as ISO 8124 which is about the safety of toys, while others are more general and serve as a framework to manage a variety of processes throughout the business. For example, ISO 9001 which is the standard for a quality management system.

ISO standards cover a wide range of topics including information technology, environmental management, social responsibility, and more.

They are developed by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), which is an independent, non-governmental international organisation with a membership of 165 national standards bodies.
